ECLIPSE - the Moments of Wonder

Lunar Occultation of Venus

The bright spot visible next to the Moon is Venus. It can be seen eclipsed by the moon and then reappeared.

When the Moon meets a planet, it can hide the planet in what we call an “occultation.”
As the Moon rises, look carefully at its edge. The Moon is going to hide Venus.
After an hour or so, Venus reappears from behind the opposite edge of the Moon.

This scene is taken at Mt.Hambaeksan, South Korea on August 13, 2012 by Kwon O-Chul.
